Mongra saffron. Only the red.
Mongra is the deep red tip of the saffron stigma, cut away from the yellow style by hand in Pampore. The colour, the aroma and the taste all live in that tip, so that is all we pack.
Check any pack before you trust it.
Most saffron asks you to take its word for it. Ours prints a code that opens the independent lab report for the exact batch in your hands, not a generic certificate.
- Find the code on the label, or on the card inside the box.
- Enter it here, before you open the pack.
- See the grade, the harvest year, the village and the full lab report.
What our pack tells you, and loose saffron won't.
Saffron is one of the most adulterated foods sold anywhere. These are the five things worth checking before you pay for any of it.
How to spot fake saffron at home| Zoon Naturals | Typical loose saffron | |
|---|---|---|
| A lab report for your batch | Yes, the code on the pack opens it | Rarely, or one certificate for everything |
| Grade stated against ISO 3632 | Yes, with the measured numbers | Usually a word like "premium" |
| Where it was grown | The village, on the batch record | "Kashmiri", at best |
| Yellow style, colour or oil added | None. Mongra is the red tip only | Common in low grades |
| When it was packed | Weighed and sealed to your order | Often repacked from bulk |

Before you order
Straight answers to what people ask us most. If yours is not here, a person will answer it.
How do I know the saffron is genuine?
Every batch is tested by an independent lab for crocin, safranal and picrocrocin, the three measures ISO 3632 grades saffron on. The code printed on your pack opens the report for that exact batch, so you can check it before you open the seal.
What does Mongra mean?
Mongra is the top Kashmiri grade: only the deep red tip of each stigma, with the yellow style cut away. It is stronger in colour, aroma and taste than Lacha, which keeps some of the style attached.
Do you deliver across India?
Yes, anywhere in India. Every order leaves our warehouse in Anantnag within one working day, and your dispatch email confirms the delivery window for your pincode along with the tracking link. Delivery is free on orders above ₹3,000.
What if my parcel arrives damaged?
We refund you in full, delivery included. Film one continuous video as you open the parcel and send it with your order number within 48 hours. Because these are sealed foods, we cannot take back an order for a change of mind.
How should I store saffron?
Keep it in its sealed pack, away from light, heat and moisture, and close it straight after use. To use it, steep a pinch in two tablespoons of warm milk or water for twenty minutes, then add the liquid and the threads together.
How can I pay?
UPI, debit and credit cards, and net banking, through a secure payment gateway. We never see or store your card details.
